Challenge
Peter Shinn, a broadcaster whose career spanned various roles in radio and media, wanted a logo and visual branding for his business called Shinnfluence. In addition to doing voice-overs and radio advertising, he hosted a “hot talk” podcast on social media.
The client wanted his brand to have a retro, analog feel, like the advertising artwork from the 40s and 50s: People shouting through megaphones or talking in old-fashioned microphones. A little bit of 60s pop-art was another direction to explore.
Solution
The solution for the logo was to create a retro-style microphone with the fiery detailing with flames like a 50s or 60s race car. The spicy flames give a nod to the “shock jock” attitude of the business owner.
For the visual branding, Wild Olive Design showed the logo in vintage and pop-art applications.
