Peachtree Pose for a Brand New Day

Welcome to a Brand New Day! In the blog I showcase brands I’ve designed for real and fictitious businesses. I share colors, fonts, styles, and mock-ups for a brand plus my problem-solving thoughts behind each choice made. Visit my previous post to learn more about this venture.

The Brief for a brand new day

Peachtree Pose is a pop-up yoga studio for professional young adults in Atlanta who want to stay fit but also yearn for more immersive experiences. It blends quirky charm with modern Southern ease. The tone is vibrant but not loud—playful, energetic, and down-to-earth. In this fictitious brand, pop-up boutique classes are held in unique locations in Atlanta; the Georgia Aquarium, Ponce City Market, Atlanta Botanical Garden, and more. In addition, regular class sessions are scheduled around town.

The backstory

I chose to create a yoga brand because of my involvement in the fitness industry as an instructor for the last decade. I see a lot of potential for business growth in personal training and group fitness.

Exercise enthusiasts from the Richard Simmons generation want to keep living their best lives, while younger Peloton and CrossFit crowds crave more physical challenge and peak performance. All these potential customers are looking for fitness answers. Out in the world is a cadre of small studios, trainers, health consultants, and fitness professionals who have knowledge and services these customers need. But these pros need a voice to reach their audience—they need stronger branding.

Palette and Font Choices

Georgia is the peach state and Atlanta is the home of Coca-Cola, so I chose colors that reflect those descriptors, blushing peach and cola red. Then I added a modest dose of muted greens and blues to represent the beauty and wonderful weather of Atlanta.

The primary peach tone is warmth, soft and friendly. The secondary color of cola adds depth and place-based identity. The accent color is an urban plant green, energizing, fresh, and ties to Atlanta’s unexpected nature pockets. The palette balances grounded natural elements with cheerful, welcoming color. It supports a visual mood that feels both active and relaxed.

The typography for this brand is fresh and approachable with a hint of flair. I chose Sklow as the font for the logo. A clean, modern sans-serif leads the way with curvy cross bars and slightly quirky forms that give it a touch of playfulness. And the alternate characters have the flexible feel of yoga. The counter in the “O” just lent itself to becoming a peach!

And for print and digital applications I chose a similar font that is widely available and recognized by a variety of software programs and browsers. Montserrat for the win! It’s expansive selection of weights and styles gives the designer a lot of options.

Supporting graphics

The illustration pattern is very simple, with strokes of equal weight for each icon—just like the peach “O”. Patterns include expected symbols such as lotus and sun, and can incorporate more unique icons such as local architecture or landmarks.

Photographic lighting leans natural: golden hour, morning light, and occasional overcast softness. The imagery feels lived-in and spontaneous. Composition shifts between candid portraits and environmental wide shots; yoga mats on rooftops, greenery in the frame, casual post-class moments. Background images reflect a moody beauty of the natural and man-made elements of the city.

Mockups in Action

A pop-up business needs an app to get the word out! The mobile mockup highlights a few of the offerings, such as the boutique pop-ups, as well as the weekly yoga workout locations, and a quick and easy way to register. The app can also offer subscription-based, virtual workouts.

Product branding carries your message to a larger audience. Selling merch, like yoga mats, bandanas, and water bottles, also helps with the bottom line.

Insights

Peachtree Pose operates on a balance of local flavor and energetic escape. Its identity is layered: Southern yet modern, grounded yet light. Colors, typography, textures, and images all echo this interplay. Every asset should feel part of the same sun-dappled, peach-tinged world.

Atlanta is a magnet for young professionals who want to live the city experience. As I worked on this brand, I realized it would also appeal to the growing number of seniors who are moving to Atlanta’s warm climate and who want to stay active and fit.

Peachtree Pose, the first of my “brand new day” series, has been loads of fun to conceptualize. (It makes me want to start my own pop-up yoga biz). What fictional brand would you like to see come to life? Submit your idea and if I use it, I’ll give you a shout-out.

A big shout out to Sam at the Color Palette Studio who inspired me to design and document brands. She has some amazing tools for website designers, whether you are looking for font pairings, brand building, or color testing for website accessibility.

Yes, I get paid if you click an affiliate link and buy something. No, it won’t be enough to purchase a yacht. Maybe a bougie coffee? Please know that your support in any way is appreciated!
